Having fun Shopping

Now shopping is not my most favourite thing to do. Leave me in a mall and I am bound to find the nearest fun spot, pub, restaurant or movie theatre...Night markets, flea markets and food and wine shows are a different story all together. In those cases, leave me there and forget about me for the next few blissful hours..

For people who come to Durban to shop there are many options available according to your budget. If you have a strict or limited budget then head over to the China City in Peters Road, Springfield Park or in town at the Old Wheel on Mahatma Ghandi street, (http://www.chinamall.co.za).

The many Eastern experiences can be found in Chatsworth- http://www.mallguide.co.za/mall.htm?mallID=525 , also the Bangladeshi Flea Market held on Saturdays only which an absolute must and Phoenix  - http://www.mallguide.co.za/mall.htm?mallID=538 - for awesome deals - lots of the shops are negotiable on price for the clothes, food there is homemade, delicious and ecomonical. The cultural interaction is also quite wonderful as there is a friendliness and warmth that is quite evident in the Indian Culture.

For more upmarket experiences, head to the Gateway (http://www.gatewayworld.co.za/), Pavillion (http://www.thepav.co.za/) or Musgrave Shopping (http://www.musgravecentre.co.za) centres.

For a beautiful meander and rustic shopping experience head to the Midlands Meander Route. http://www.midlandsmeander.co.za/  For fantastic handmade, unique and exquisitely crafted gifts, household items, wines, chocolates, cheeses and michellin starred restaurants and upmarket accommodation, visit the Midlands Meander. You are bound to find tons of amazing memories around every corner for you and your family.

The very trendy Wilsons Wharf -  http://www.wilsonswharf.co.za/ - just off the Esplanade, based at the harbour, houses many restaurants as well as a Craft market which is tons of fun to explore. Take a trip on a boat from there too..Chill out, kick off your shoes and soak up the beauty of our gorgeous sunsets whilst sipping on exquisitely made cocktails.
