Durban
Where to go

Monday, July 18, 2011

Hey everyone..had an awesome weekend. I was lured to a stunning beach under the pretext of a day of fishing..and found out that it was my surprise party.. :)

I had never been to Ansteys Beach on the Bluff..but would really recommend it, if you want a beautiful, peacefull spot to relax at. There was a lovely coffee shop with warm hearty food, clean toilets and just a fabulour view of the ocean..There were many fishermen there, so if you want to chill out and fish..it seems that this is the spot to go to..

Well..after a little saunter around..we all decided to head to another favourite spot of mine..

Now this is a must if you ever go to Durban..Blue Lagoon! It is the traditional hangout of Indian families all week and especially on the weekend. Blue Lagoon has the Umgeni River meeting the Sea in a fantastic swirl and clash of forces.

The fishing there is good....just ask the fishermen who can be found there anytime of the day or night.

Go there on weekends to join families who arrive enmasse to relax, play, eat, braai and socialise. Wait until the evenings to watch youngsters show off their sound systems, cars and latest accessories..

There are clean facilities, gorgeous trees to sit under..bikes for hire...braai areas with lots of space for kids to run around and restaurants if you don't feel like braaiĆng...

To find Blue Lagoon, just follow the M4 from Durban central..or take a slow cruise along the beach front heading towards Durban North..

well guys..that's it from me for today..

until the next time..

take care and have fun!
